“Celebrate Biodiversity”, the theme for the World Environment Day, 5th, June 2020.

Forty-six years ago, World Environment Day theme was “Only One Earth”- It stood for The Care and Maintenance of a Small Planet.
It was to protect the Earth by breaking down so that humans and other living beings can enjoy living on it. Participants begin to take to heart the concept that it really is one world, that nations and peoples are interdependent, and that no matter who pollutes the oceans or the air, everyone suffers. Many documentaries were made and many authors wrote books on theme “Only One Earth”. We are on the brink of new successes and advances using genetic technology, gene therapies, transplantation, embryonic stem cell research, even human cloning. On the other hand, all these advanced technology and hi-tech words are creating environmental problems and have brought world to the brink of destruction.
This year the theme of World Environment Day 2020 “Celebrate Biodiversity”. “With 1 million species facing extinction, there has never been a more important time to focus on biodiversity. It is a call to action for the protection of our environment.
Our solutions are in nature. You are in the best position to know what awareness-raising campaigns and calls to action are feasible at your national level.
The School Planet, Lesley Production and The Still Magazine invite children and youth, the leaders of tomorrow, to take action for the protection of life on Earth. Surf with us and learn how!
