Together We Can
Protect Our Home -Happy World Oceans Day!
TAKE ACTION
For 2020 World Oceans Day is growing the global movement to call on world leaders to protect 30% of our blue planet by 2030. This critical need is called 30x30. By safeguarding at least 30% of our ocean through a network of highly protected areas we can help ensure a healthy home for all!

World Oceans Day is an international day that takes place annually on 8 June. The concept was originally proposed in 1992 by Canada's International Centre for Ocean Development and the Ocean Institute of Canada at the Earth Summit – UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.World Oceans Day was officially recognised by the United Nations in 2008. The international day supports the implementation of worldwide Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and fosters public interest in the management of the ocean and its resources.
The day is marked in a variety of ways, including launching new campaigns and initiatives, special events at aquariums and zoos, outdoor explorations, aquatic and beach cleanups, educational and conservation action programs, art contests, film festivals, and sustainable seafood events. Youth have been playing an increasingly important role since 2015. The World Oceans Day Youth Advisory Council[3] has been helping lead conservation awareness and action efforts globally since 2016.
The School Planet had a drawing competition for children of the world on 8th June, 2020. This competition was held for young learners of all ages to show appreciation to our Great Wealth on the Earth, called OCEANS.
We are proud to have many participants from all over the world. We achieved great success.
All the children who participated have achieved first and second prizes.
We got great feedback from the parents!
Much Appreciated!
